2002/2003 Report - Under 12/2
The under 12/2s had a great year this year, with all the boys improving their style with each game. Pranav Khanna led the way receiving the most improved player award. Pranav showed true team spirit, refining batting, bowling and fielding skills this year.
This team showed great team spirit which grew thought out the year as the boys got to know each other better. They all pitched in and helped with the setting up of the grounds, making sure the next batter had a few balls before going in and packing up the kit.
Alex Bowen showed excellence in the area of batting. Alex opened our batting most weeks and always put on runs, scoring the teams only 50 (52 to be exact) against Seven Hills.
His partner Matt Renwick ensured solid starts at the top of the order.
James Hunt proved to be the rock of the middle order with consistently solid innings.
Our bowling line up was led by Trent Stubbs. Trent showed pinpoint accuracy in securing many wickets. Trent showed an outstanding all round performance through out the season.
Daniel Crook was the master behind the vital wickets taken to lead our side triumphantly to its first out right win.
With strong spells of fast bowling from Luke Maxey and Kanav Malhotra's super spells of spin we had our bowing covered.
Adam Bailey, Josh Rich and Gareth Cousin all put in terrific efforts in all aspects. Each showed a great willingness to do their part for the team. Gareth was our star player winning the Double Wicket competition.
Matthew Gunton is the last of our team members. Matt too showed excellence in the skills required to play the game of cricket, however this year Matt displayed an outstanding ability in the area of leadership. Matt was able to organise and take the role of speaker on the ground. This came in the form of consistent encouragement for each and everyone of his team members.
The Under 12/2's would like to congratulate our most wonderful and dedicated group of parents. Our parents came every week, some scored, some umpired, some organised the boys, some kept the kit in order, but not one week went past where there wasn't a group of parents behind the scenes encouraging, coaching, and reassuring this team of boys. A special thank-you to you all.
