Secretary's Report - 2006/2007
The role of Secretary includes some of the more onerous tasks, such as collecting season's stats, preparing and submitting stats to PDCA and preparing the Annual report. This task is made harder by those who do not comply with the timing for submission of this information. Again this year we have had a number of "non-compliances".
Our monthly meetings have been reasonably well attended, but some teams still do not have regular attendance
The management committee continues to work hard to run the club, but the position of Secretary remained unfilled this season, increasing the workload on other committee members. It is disappointing that in a club of this size, we are unable to fill the position. Hopefully it is not a trend, as the survival of clubs depends on volunteers.
Baulkham Hills remains the equal largest club in the Association. It was pleasing to see an increase in junior team numbers. We must be doing something right! If this trend continues, grounds will become a problem. But that would be a good problem to encounter.
Congratulations to the B4, 14/1 and 11/1 premiership winning teams. Whilst winning is not the be all and end all, it is good to see teams achieving. There were a number of other teams, who with a bit more luck, could have joined them. But in a club our size, we have a wide range of ability in our teams, especially the juniors. We trust all players are enjoying their cricket with Baulkham Hills
